Count down has started will we be able to get enough sponsors for a House of Hope?

running one of the most difficult marathons        2011 Rene Marianne running

Running a Half Marathon by can be a challenge, training for a half in Haiti is a different story and should give us double points :).  Training together with Rene makes it happen as I could never do it on my own around here. Just this weekend we did it and ran 12.4 miles (20 km) and hopefully it was long enough to be able to run the Nashville “Half” on March 7th. When we knew Rene had a pastors conference in Nashville the week following it was exciting to see there was a race right in the neighborhood. If you live locally you are more than welcome to come and cheer us on. Of course everybody can help and support as we try to raise US $ 5,500 for a “House of Hope” (one of our Hope Force projects) for one of the single moms in Sous Savanne. After the conference we will drive to Jacksonville, FL and run a 15 km run March 14th and speak in Redeemer church on Sunday March 15th.  We will be seeing some old time friends as well as meet new friends. Exciting times. If you live in the Jacksonville area you can cheer us on there. And WHY do we do all this? Answer: Trying to be obedient to the call God has put on our lives and be His hands and feet to the people we meet. At the moment those are the people from Sous Savanne and beyond in Haiti and we are so grateful to become more and more a part of their community. Living closer definitely is opening my eyes to rural community living and I have a high admiration for the people living here. You can sponsor our runs by donating on click on Donate and designate it for Houses Of Hope‬. (please let us know so we can keep you up to date with our running adventures 🙂 ) Mesi Anpil!
